The story of Daal Bhaat isn't a business venture. It is the physical manifestation of two parents answering a city's need for pure, home-cooked food.
Years ago, Amardeep Sir and Seema Mam stood near the bustling Haldwani bus stand, watching young students, daily commuters, and families on their way to Nainital. They noticed a painful reality: finding a plate of pure, hygienic, and authentic home-cooked food was nearly impossible.
The local dhabas were masked in reused heavy oils, artificial colors, and factory-made spice mixes that destroy the stomach before a hill journey. It troubled them deeply. Food, in their Kumaoni heritage, has always been sacred—a source of healing, not harm.
That day, a seed was planted. They decided to open the doors of their own kitchen to the city. Thus, the idea of the best pure veg restaurant in Haldwani was born.
Not to serve 'restaurant food', but to serve exactly what a mother serves at home—warm, satvik, and incredibly safe. A place where you don't just eat, but you feel cared for.
She believes that real flavor cannot be bought in a packet; it must be nurtured. Seema Mam is the soul of our recipes, bringing authentic Kumaoni magic to every plate.
While Seema Mam focuses on taste, Amardeep Sir is the guardian of your health, enforcing the strictest hygiene protocols in Haldwani's food scene.
"When you walk into Daal Bhaat, you are not a customer making a transaction. You are a guest in our home. Whether you are a student missing your mom's cooking, a traveler needing a safe meal before the hills, or a family looking for a peaceful dinner, we welcome you with open arms and a hot plate of pure love."
